Class Registration

You may register and pay for classes online or stop by Artistry On Main and register in person. To register for a class just click the Pay Now button below the class desired and complete the required information on the PayPal page.  

Note: Class size is limited and if closed your payment will be fully refunded. Full refunds for a cancellation by the student requires 48 hour notice prior to the first class session.  

Online payments use PayPal but you do NOT need a PayPal account in order register and pay for a class online.   All classes are held at the Artistry’s Classroom (rear entrance) unless noted otherwise.

Beginning Knitting by Marsha S. Lee – Three Sessions, Tuesdays, March 6, 13, 20, 2018 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.  $62 which includes all materials. Learn how to knit and purl (the basic knit stitches) Learn how to read a pattern and yarn labels, discuss the different types of yarn and what needles are used. Learn why swatches are important and knit a swatch. Knit "Grandma's Dish Cloth” Minimum 4 students; Maximum 7 students.


“Going to Market” Basket by Jill Schiefelbein – One Session, Thursday, March 8, 2018 from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm. $60 which includes materials needed. Students should bring scissors, an old towel, and a butter knife (nothing sharp!). Skills to be covered will include: how to lay out a woven bottom, twining, over/under weaving, rim preparation, and lashing. Students will learn basic basketmaking techniques during this hand-on class. Click to see image. Minimum 6 students; Maximum 10 students.


Pour and Blow Painting by Trina Beall – One Session, Saturday, March 10, 2018 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. $35 which includes all materials. Join me for this fun unique style of painting using no brushes. Once you take this class you will be able to make paintings like these on your own.  Great class for kids and adults.  Minimum of 8 students; Maximum 10 students.

Introduction to Digital Photography / iPhone Style by Rich Clemens – One session, Thursday, March 15, 2018 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. $30 which includes materials. Class will improve the digital photography skills of iPhone users by learning basic composition techniques, app choices, and working with post processing apps. Students will learn then practice their skills during the class. Students should bring their iPhone 6, 7, 8, or X to class fully charged. Minimum 3 students; Maximum 12 students.


Painting a Scarf by Christine Keller – One Session, Saturday, March 24, 2018 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. $30 which includes materials for one scarf. See images. (If time permits, a student may create a second scarf for an additional materials charge of $5 payable during the class.) Minimum 3 students; Maximum 8 students.

Jewelry Making Basics by Vicki Angotti – One Session, Thursday, March 29, 2018 from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. $40 which includes materials. This class will show you the basics of jewelry making so that you can make necklaces, earrings & bracelets and do small repairs.  We will be using hammers, steel, pliers & cutters. Students must be at least 10 years old. You will take home a necklace & earring set. A next level class will be scheduled if interest warrants.

The Art of Pruning by Tom Lynch – One or two sessions, Saturday, March 31, 2018 with each session lasting approximately 2 hours. Tom has been pruning for over 40 years as manager of Altmann Orchard in Rock Cave and would like to share his skills with others. Pruning is both a skill and an art. Knowing when and how to prune involves skill. Knowing where to cut for optimum fruitfulness and beauty of a plant is the art. In these classes we will be covering all those necessary skills needed to prune effectively, including choice of tools and sharpening of those tools. Discussions of different types of fruiting trees and shrubs as well as flowering plants and when to prune will be covered. A short field trip will be planned for some hands-on experience. Morning session (10:00 am) will focus on Pruning flowers and bushes while the afternoon (1:00 pm) session will cover fruit production.  You may register for either or both sessions. One session is $20 while both sessions are $35. Student should bring their pruning tools. Minimum 3 students; Maximum 12 students.

Beginning Stained Glass by Rich Clemens – Four sessions, Thursdays, April 5, 12, 19, 26, 2018 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. $95 which includes all materials. Students will learn how to cut glass, grind glass, apply copper foil, and solder their work of art. It takes about 12 hours to complete a small project (approximately 35 square inches) of the student’s selection/design. As a class, they will also discuss the lead came method of creating stained glass panels. Students must be 18 years of age or older to participate in this class. Minimum 3 students; Maximum 8 students.

Needle-felting a Garden Gnome by Helen Reese – One Session, Saturday, April 7, 2018 from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm. $30 which includes all materials. Students may borrow foam pads or provide their own from a previous class. In this class students will make a head with a face, and conical shaped body with arms. Felted clothing, hair and a hat will be added. A sample is on display at Artistry On Main or view this image.  Minimum of 5 students; Maximum of 10 students.  Think Spring!


Beginning and Intermediate (Spindle) Wood Turning by Rich Clemens and Tom Lynch – One or two sessions, Saturday, April 21, 2018 with each session lasting approximately 2 hours. Students are encouraged to bring their own turning tools and safety supplies (safety glasses and dust masks). The Morning session (10:00 am) will focus on basic components of a lathe, turning tools, tool sharpening, with emphasis on safety equipment and safe operation.  The afternoon session (1:00 pm) will provide the details of spindle turning and allow students to experience the joy of woodturning with expert guidance. Students may register for either or both sessions. One session is $20 while both sessions are $35 with all materials supplied.  Minimum 3 students; Maximum 12 students.

Earrings! By Vicki Angotti - One session, Sunday, April 22, 2018, from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm. $48 which includes all materials.  Come on down for an afternoon of some fun! We will be making 3 pairs of earrings. Two will have surgical steel hooks & one will have Sterling Silver hooks. I do have clip tops available if you contact me prior to the class. Minimum 2 students; Maximum 6 students.

Stream of Thought Through Art by Sara Golden – Two Sessions, Saturdays, April 28 and May 26, 2018 at 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. $50 which includes materials. This class will enlighten and entertain you as you discover freedom of expression through Stream of Consciousness techniques.  Have you ever been stuck with a blank sheet of paper, afraid to make that first mark?  Learn how to let yourself go and break out of your fear of making a mistake.  Basic art supplies will be provided.  Minimum of 5 students; Maximum of 10 Students.

Weave a Seat by Tom Lynch – One Session, Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. $45 plus the cost of desired materials. Whether you bring your own chair or buy a chair or stool frame from Tom, weaving your own chair bottom is fun and rewarding. Anyone can weave a seat.  All ages are welcome.  There will be a choice of materials for weaving, including Shaker Tape, leather and hickory bark. STUDENTS MUST CONTACT THE INSTRUCTOR ahead of class to arrange for their choice of projects and weaving materials. There will also be several antique chairs available to re-bottom on a first come basis with a small donation to Artistry on Main. Minimum of 2 Students; Maximum of 6 Students.


Precious Metal Clay by Vicki Angotti – One session, Monday, May 7, 2018 at 6:00 to 9:00 pm. $75 which includes materials.  Precious Metal Clay is made by retrieving the silver particles from film & X-rays and mixing with a food starch to make a clay that feels like Play Doh. You use rubber stamps, polymer clay texture plates & other everyday items to form pieces that when fired in a digital kiln comes out .999 Fine Silver (solid silver). This class will help you create a pendant. You will form & fire it in the same class to be able to take it home at the end. All materials & tools included. Minimum of 2 students; Maximum of 6 students.

Wood Pen Turning by Rich Clemens – One session, Thursday, May 10, 2018 at 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. $30 which includes materials. Just getting into turning? Want to create a gift or a meaningful piece for a friend or family member? Look no further! Make a beautiful piece of art that's also incredibly useful. In this class, you will learn how turn a Wall-Street style pen out of a piece of wood. This demonstration class will guide you on options for kit selection, material sources, suitable woods, and techniques for creation, assembly and finishing of a pen. Minimum 3 students; Maximum 10 students.

Stream of Thought Through Writing by Sara Golden – Two Sessions, Saturday, June 9 and 16, 2018 at 2:00 pm till 4:00 pm. $30 which includes a writing pad and pen. (You may bring your own materials if you desire.) Learn to let your imagination flow and your thoughts to be expressed without constraints.  Discover Stream of Consciousness thinking.  Send your creativity soaring to new heights as you let your hair down and shake out the old cobwebs in this innovative writing class.  You will practice your new skills and experience true unharnessed freedom of expression.  Perfect for anyone who needs a fresh perspective.  No more writer's block for you. Minimum 5 students; Maximum 15 students.
